The 9 trim levels of the 2021 Toyota 4Runner are not arranged accidentally or without careful consideration. The features available by trim are chosen with care to create balanced versions with fair prices and a sense of purpose and meaning behind each.
The lowest trim level is the SR5, and the highest is the TRD PRO, but you might find your perfect match with any of the models in between. This page is dedicated to offering insight as to which trim would be your ideal fit. You might be surprised to learn certain trims exist and see the kind of features now included on the modern 4Runner. This table shows two highlights that correspond to each of the trims.

The TRD name is often one of the most popular trim options among Toyota buyers. The TRD Off-Road Premium trim has already proved its popularity and will probably continue to be one of the most successful variants not only on the TRD line, but also the 4Runner as a whole. With four trims above it and four below it, the TRD Off-Road Premium is the middle trim, which may also contribute to its success. If off-road capability and performance driving aren’t your thing, there are still models like the Limited for luxury lovers, the Nightshade Special Edition for those who prize its aesthetic appeal. The Venture and Trail Special Editions don’t go all-out with capability, but they can provide weekend campers and occasional adventurers with useful features and equipment.
