With the power of a truck, the efficiency of a sedan, and the interior space of an SUV, it’s no surprise the new 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid is gaining popularity and attention from drivers everywhere. If you’re not already a Toyota fan, the newest Highlander Hybrid is sure to change your mind.

Exploring the Family-Friendly Efficiency of the 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid

Engine Components

The newest Highlander Hybrid produces 186 horsepower and 175 lb.-ft. of torque from its 2.5-liter double-overhead-camshaft internal-combustion engine. This engine has 16 valves and dual intelligent variable valve timing, and the engine’s intake is controlled by the permanent-magnet synchronous electric motor. With electronic on-demand AWD and an electronically controlled sequential-shift-mode continuously variable transmission, the efficient Highlander boasts 35 MPG in the city as well as on the highway.

The 2025 Highlander Hybrid has a multi-link suspension in the rear and an independent MacPherson strut suspension in the front, both equipped with stabilizer bars. The anti-lock braking system comes standard on all 2025 models. The Highlander’s brakes feature power-assisted ventilated discs in the front, solid discs with electronically controlled braking in the rear, and integrated regenerative braking for greater efficiency and fewer emissions.

Viewing the Cabin

The base-model Highlander XLE has seating for seven occupants and a total of 139.5 cubic feet of cozy passenger space. There’s plenty of room for cargo, with 16 cubic feet of available storage space when all the seats are occupied. Folding down the third row of seats increases the cargo volume to 48.4 cubic feet, while folding down both the second and third rows grants you 84.3 cubic feet of space for your belongings.

Cabin Technology

The cabin’s focal point is its eight-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia infotainment screen, which is connected to a six-speaker audio system. This screen includes wireless smartphone connectivity for both Apple and Android devices, as well as access to SiriusXM. You can upgrade to a 12.3-inch infotainment screen that comes with Bluetooth technology and five USB ports for media/charging.

With higher model variants, you receive a JBL 11-speaker sound system with a subwoofer and an amplifier, a Head-Up Display with Road Sign Assist and navigation software, and many more premium convenience amenities as standard features.
